Makki Masjid & Madrasa aims to educate the children and inspire in them the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah (practices) of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It also strives to:

Our IMAAM'S

Shaykh Izhar Ahmed – Resident Imam
Shaykh Izhar was born in Pakistan. His educational journey began in Pakistan where he was able to develop his foundation in Arabic and Fiqh. He has received Ijaazaat in various Islamic Sciences, including Arabic, Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Hadith, Tafseer, Tajweed, and Qira’ah.He joined Makki Masjid in 2006 and has been serving the community till today. He teaches the Hifz class at the Madrasa and also serves as lead Quranic Instructor.His duties include:
• Leading the daily prayers
• Leading Jumu’a and Eid prayers and delivering the Khutba
• Leading the Taraweeh prayers
• Providing Islamic education services including Qur’anic Tafsir, Tajwid, Hadith, Seerah, Fiqh, and more
• Providing pastoral counselling
• Conducting marriage and funeral services
• Representing Makki Masjid at conferences and events

Shaykh Ahmad Imraan – Resident Imam and Co-ordinator Makki Madrasa
Shaykh Ahmad was born in Birmingham. His Islamic educational journey started here at Makki Masjid from the age of 5 under his late father, Shaykh Muhammad Khan. He also studied under various other scholars before completing the Darsi Nizami course at Madinatul-Uloom Al-Islamiya, Kidderminster. He received Ijaazaah in various Islamic Sciences, including Arabic, Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Hadith, Tafseer, Tajweed, and Qira’ah. He graduated in 2011. Shaykh Ahmad also holds a BA Honours and Masters degree in Islamic Studies.Shaykh Ahmad has been leading prayers since 2005. He is the co-ordinator of the Islamic Studies Programme at Makki Madrasa.His duties include: • Leading Jumu’a and Eid prayers and delivering the Khutba • Providing Islamic education services including Qur’anic Tafsir, Tajwid, Hadith, Seerah, Fiqh, and more • Providing focused Islamic education services to youth and sisters • Acting as a resource for Islamic knowledge and provide daily office hours to answer individual questions • Providing periodic educational conferences/ workshops • Participating in and facilitating outreach and interfaith activities to build bridges with other faith-based communities and leaders • Providing pastoral counselling • Conducting marriage and funeral services

Shaykh Sirajul Islam – Resident Imam
Shaykh Sirajul-Islam was born in Bangladesh. His Islamic educational journey started Bangladesh. He received Ijaazaah in various Islamic Sciences, including Arabic, Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Hadith, Tafseer, Tajweed, and Qira’ah. He is also a Quran and Hadith lecturer at various Islamic Institutes in Birmingham.Shaykh Sirajul-Islam has been leading prayers since 2018 and occasionally leads both the Jumu’a and Eid prayers.His duties include: • Leading the daily prayers • Leading Jumu’a and Eid prayers and delivering the Khutba • Leading the Taraweeh prayers • Acting as a resource for Islamic knowledge and provide daily office hours to answer individual questions • Providing pastoral counsellingOther Appointed Imams for Taraweeh prayersImam Suleman Ibn Khalid Imam Yusuf Waseem Ahmad
